On April 2, 2025, at a meeting of the Government, the following issues were considered and resolved. The Cabinet discussed the implementation of the Law on the National Sovereign Wealth Fund and the distribution of dividends from Erdenes Tavantolgoi to citizens.
The government is preparing to submit a list of 55 strategic deposits to Parliament, increasing the current 16 deposits of strategic importance by 39.
- The environmental impact assessment for the gas pipeline project will be conducted in the third quarter of this year.
Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat N. Uchral: At today’s Cabinet meeting, the government reviewed the progress of the project to construct a gas pipeline from Russia to China through Mongolia.
- Mongolia’s foreign exchange reserves have reached USD 5 billion.
Minister of Finance B. Javkhlan: The working group dedicated to supporting exports and increasing foreign exchange reserves presented its latest update at today’s Cabinet meeting. The government is actively pursuing various strategies to enhance foreign exchange reserves through all available channels. Since the establishment of the working group on March 13, Mongolia’s foreign exchange reserves have grown to USD 5 billion.
