Prime Minister announcing projects from its planned mega initiatives for parliamentary review

Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene addressed parliament (2024.12.26) today, announcing that the government is submitting prioritized projects from its planned mega initiatives for parliamentary review. 

The Prime Minister highlighted that the loan agreement for the Erdeneburen Hydropower Plant, one of the 14 major projects outlined by the government, has been finalized. This issue has been under discussion since 1964.

He also mentioned that the government is submitting to Parliament the agreement for a rail connection between Mongolia’s Gashuunsukhait port and China’s Gantsmod port, a project that has faced delays for many years. 

Additionally, the investment agreement for the Mongolian-French joint uranium project is being submitted to Parliament for approval.

In his address, Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene expressed hope that members of Parliament will engage in a thorough discussion of these critical projects, which are central to the country’s development policy. He encouraged them to provide constructive suggestions and recommendations, and to collaborate in advancing these initiatives.
