The MiningWeek & MinePro 2025 international exhibition and conference opened on September 11 under the theme “Mining Momentum in Mongolia: Driving Progress and Responsibility.” Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.
He emphasized that MiningWeek & MinePro 2025 is more than an industry event, it serves as a vital platform for advancing sustainable development, attracting investment, and strengthening international cooperation in Mongolia’s mining sector.
“The mining sector is the backbone of Mongolia’s economy,” the Prime Minister said. “To remain competitive, we must shift from raw extraction to producing value-added products, while integrating technology and innovation. The government is committed to green development, e-transition, and sustainable, responsible mining, with transparency, accountability, and the interests of local citizens at the core.”
Within the framework of the Digital First policy, the Government will launch the Mining & AI Initiative to apply big data and artificial intelligence in geology, exploration, and mining. The initiative aims to increase productivity, accelerate innovation, and expand electronic solutions across the sector. The Prime Minister called on experts and investors in mining and technology to join in implementing practical projects for mutual benefit.
He further stressed that the true “mega project” of the Government is ensuring that mining revenues are invested effectively in human development, particularly in health, education, housing, and improving citizens’ quality of life. He urged closer alignment of the Government’s key priorities, E-Transformation, Human Development, Green Development, and productivity, with the investment policies of the mining sector. The Government, he added, is ready to cooperate fully to create a favorable and mutually beneficial business environment.
