The sixth edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 12 to 14, 2027, under the theme “Global Collaboration for Resilient Mineral Supply.” Mining Insight and Energy Insight magazines will once again work with FMF as media partners, continuing their cooperation with one of the world’s leading platforms for the mining and minerals sector.
Organized under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, FMF 2027 will focus on mobilizing finance, accelerating project development and shortening the time required to bring mineral projects into production. Particular attention will be given to strengthening mineral value chains in Saudi Arabia and across emerging supplier regions, including Africa, West and Central Asia, and Latin America.
The Forum’s flagship government-led Ministerial Roundtable will once again bring together senior government representatives, mining industry leaders, multilateral organizations, academic and financial institutions, and other stakeholders across the mineral value chain. FMF 2027 will also expand its “Gateway to Funding” activities, connecting investors with scalable projects and showcasing financing instruments and models for collaboration.
The previous edition demonstrated the Forum’s growing international reach. FMF 2026 welcomed senior government representatives from 91 countries, more than 64 governmental and non-governmental organizations, and 21,500 participants from 175 countries. A total of 132 agreements and memoranda of understanding worth more than USD 26.7 billion were signed during the event.
The Forum is also closely linked to the rapid development of Saudi Arabia’s mining sector. Mineral exploration expenditure in the Kingdom increased from USD 54.7 million in 2020 to a record USD 362.7 million in 2025, while the number of active exploration companies rose from six to 191 over the same period.
Mining Insight has covered the Future Minerals Forum from Riyadh and served as an official media partner in previous editions, bringing discussions on mineral investment, critical minerals, technology, responsible mining and global supply chains to Mongolian readers. In 2027, Mining Insight and Energy Insight will continue this cooperation, providing coverage of the Forum’s key discussions, projects and international partnerships.
FMF 2027 aims to move the global minerals dialogue further from discussion toward investment and implementation, with a particular focus on diversifying mineral supply and building a more resilient and reliable global minerals ecosystem.
