Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene: The government is submitting a package of laws to Parliament aimed at ensuring transparency in the governance of state-owned companies and improving their productivity.
Currently, Mongolia has approximately 190 state-owned and 370 locally owned companies. The key concept of the proposed legislation is to maintain profitable companies, consolidate mining companies under the “Erdenes Mongol” group, and non-mining companies under the “Erches Mongol” corporation, managing them based on the Singapore model.
Large state-owned enterprises with the potential to drive the country’s economy will be consolidated, evaluated, and aligned with international standards.
This initiative is one of the key commitments outlined in the election platforms of the political parties in government.
