Mongolia to Establish Complexes for Advanced Processing of Raw Materials and Minerals

Establishment of Complexes for Deep Processing of Raw Materials and Minerals

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Ts. Tuvaan briefed the cabinet on 14 mega projects outlined in the Coalition Government's action program for 2024-2028, focusing on research and locations for processing plants.

The government plans to implement 14 mega projects across four key policy areas. Within the industrial development sector, the projects will aim to process raw materials and minerals from initial stages to deep processing. Proposed facilities include a Coke-Chemical Complex, Copper Processing Complex, Steel Production Complex, and Fluorspar Concentrate Processing Complex, among others.

Over the next four years, the government will work to increase gold production and establish a gold refining plant. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on training personnel in coal-chemical technologies and setting up a small-scale pilot plant for extracting gas, synthetic materials, and hydrogen.

In the future, the government intends to prioritize support for businesses establishing industrial and technology parks.
