The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Energy to seek ways of financing the power plant project and intensify the construction work. Mongolia implements the Tavan Tolgoi Thermal Power Plant project in two phases: 300MW + 150MW to meet the energy needs in the southern region of the country and the Oyu Tolgoi project.
Speaking at the press briefing after the cabinet meeting, B.Choijilsuren, Minister of Energy, said the cabinet approved the resolution on intensifying the work of the Tavantolgoi Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 450 MW. We will build and commission a 300 MW power plant in the first instance.
